Hip Hop Personification
Sunday, February 26th, 2006Not a whole lot to report this morning and further not much to express regarding the inner contemplations, the synaptic transmissions sent throughout my cranium. That shall come soon enough.
Well, perhaps I do have a slight something to report… I happen to have a friend who is a pretty well known “Emcee” or for those of you not too familiar with such lingo “Rap Artist” shall have to do. His name is KRS-ONE and we have spent a fair amount of time on tour together and have collaborated on several projects and we’re planning to do some music work sometime this year. In any event, I surprised him tonight as I got directions to his show from his wife and showed up with two sidekicks to film his performance which was in Orange County, California.
Since I had grown up in Orange County, in particular the Fullerton, Anaheim and Orange localities it was a bit surreal endeavoring out there. It was nice to see a lot of the ole faces from KRS’s crew, the Temple of Hip Hop and as a whole things were cool but unfortunately the people running the venue were totally and pathetically disorganized. Things weren’t quite chaotic but were more so entropotic, as things would get out of hand for just a moment and slip back into what would pass for order.
Throughout the course of the night I snapped about 500 pictures and my compadre Scott used my other camera to catch some video. Unfortunately the venue had little to no ventilation and thus had the earmarks of a bathhouse with its nasty humidity. The humidity nastiness resulted in the fogging of my camera lenses which made it a hassle to snap any good photos or shoot video. I was however able to pop of a few goodies.
Tis all for now…
